THE TREE OF LIFE POSTLUDE

The cherubim beings of splendor and wisdom occupy a prominent place in the heavenly tapestry Described in the Scriptures They are portrayed as perfect in beauty reflecting the glory and perfection of their Creator The Bible tells us that even Satan before his fall was an anointed cherub adorned With precious stones and resplendent metals walking among the stones of fire Not only did these beings guard the Garden of Eden but they also made their presence Felt in the Tabernacle and the Temple places where the people of Israel sought guard The story of Eden doesn't end with expulsion It points to the promise of restoration and the hope that one day humanity may be reconciled To its Creator As we reflect on the angelic Guard of Eden we are led to ponder the barriers we ourselves Have erected in our lives What are the flaming swords that swirl around our hearts and minds preventing us from attaining The fullness of life that God desires for us Like the cherubim who guard the path to the sacred what are the protections we place Around our most precious values Humanity's journey is marked by quests and barriers by falls and redemptions The story of Adam and Eve the cherubim and the flaming sword is an invitation for each Of us to look inward and outward seeking to understand the greater purpose of our existence And the path that leads us back into God's presence Written by: i1
