MY WALKIN SHOES

Not applying any pressure Your length of truth is yours to measure But we haven't been true to ourselves What's going on ain't going so well What holds us back are the yesterdays Certain memories refuse to fade So when all is said and done I suggest we make some brand new ones Moving forward one step at a time Moving towards putting the past behind Moving onward got to get to a better place You can stay if you choose but I'm putting on my walking shoes For quite awhile been on this same level Cause we're stuck in this time tunnel But nothing we can do can change what's been We push it down but it keeps resurfacing So we know what must be done to stop the dark clouds From blocking out the sun It's much too late to escape the facts We need to leave the past right where it's at Moving forward one step at a time Moving towards putting the past behind Moving onward got to get to a better place You can stay if you choose but I'm putting on my walking shoes If we can overcome our past Then what kind of future could we ever have
