An illusion that the water is flowing outwards and no water is flowing outwards at all. Water is only going up and down, what appears to go outwards is the wave, not the water. So this kind of philosophical says that our seeming to go along in a course of time doesn't really happen. This being human is a guest house, every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. As currents calm, earth persists through and never causes earthquakes. The heart once broken mends with gentle ease in melancholy's grip, the soul still aches. Through darkened days of pain it lingers near entangled webs of sorrow tightly spun. Threads of grief a mournful song to hear in the journey through the night to find the sun. Yet as the sorrow's tide begins to fade, the heart finds strength within the lingering ache. Acceptance dawns a shift in griefs cascade, a newfound piece of a path we must partake. In the tangled web of grief's embrace, each thread of pain a testament of grace. So currents calm the earth, it finds its way through webs of grief to light of the new day.
