Luna cannot sleep at night Too scared to open her eyes She counts imaginary stars And as she's sliding down the milky way Her shaking lips form a silent prayer 'Bad men come and go', she says 'Tomorrow will be another day' She wants to dream about simple things The smell of apple pie To keep her monsters away She wants to dream of trivialities She wants to keep her fears Underneath her bed Her eyes, once ocean blue Now stormy and so far away She never smiles but tells you - 'I'm okay' But you know that she can't concentrate anymore Deep in the back of her mind Teeth are eating their way out 'Hush, little girl. Tell me when it hurts' She will never tell
