There's so many things in this world to wrap my head around feeling like I don't know shit And you know they say miseducations like a lack of self understanding I already know But we done spent too much time letting the same race of people who enslaved us to protect us And then we wonder what went wrong, I'm trying to figure out what right You know they say when you do better that you can do better Knowing good and well how to hide shit from a nigga Plus they say he that won the war determines how the story gets told And that's why we only know HIS story Sometimes I wonder, how can I truly honor my mother If I don't know her name or where she came from Cause they took that from us My land my heritage, my inheritance, my name And made being a slave my claim to fame Man you is so dumb Thoughts, word manifestations Power in the lounge so I'm making sure I claim it Black (melanated, indigenous) Lives Matter (always) Black (Nubian, negro) Lives Matter (always) I reign from a long line of greatness a living manifestation of a legacy And if it's true to whom much is given that much is expected Then I accept responsibility Cause we done spent too much time letting somebody else depict us We mistake truth for conspiracy which is ironic cause in reality The truth is way stranger than fiction will ever be And that's real I do this for those who came before me And for all the blood that was shared for shit that I can do Cause I'll be damned if an ass shot sex tape strip pole is the way to make it through Somebody tried to say if I ain't have my ass out I'd be assed out Money where your mouth is watch me cash out And I'm far from perfect but I'm worth it So I strive for better tomorrows cause there's power in the unknown And I reign from an army of ancestors eager for representation on the royal throne In due time when I shine
