The Whiskey'll Miss Me

On a summer night, for the first time, I made a brand new friend From senior high, to this 9 to 5, We've been together every weekend   A good time buddy when life's getting ugly, He'll pick you up when you're down But when the party's over it's right over your shoulder well I guess I'm hanging around   In a blink of an eye or the drop of a dime I can put it on the shelf There ain't a doubt in my mind,  I could walk the line I don't need nobody's help It ain't me you should be worried about I can go without being tipsy.. Well, I could quit, but I'm afraid the whiskey'll miss me   Some of the best times and the worst times I've had with my old friend, I've seen a sunrise, I've seen a bar fight Time and time again   Now you're starting to complain, saying im changing, different than I was back then But if you think I'm tamed in a wild ones game go and fill it up to the brim   Living on the rocks I'm done drowning out these blues But for your sake I guess I'll take One more shot with you
