The Void

You took me by the hand And we walked into the void Don't know which way is right or wrong And all I hear is noise Ever since I've been a kid I've had so many questions And now I'm staring at the sky Just looking for some reflection I know it's gonna take some time So wait for me at the finish line And everyday I feel I'm falling further behind Life is short but it's no race Do your best to laugh in the face Of things that just try to bring you down I want to know if when we die We look down from the heavens? Or is that just something I believe To make myself feel happier about the fact You're gone, and I'm still here to go on and find a way To live my life with the void of you missing everyday I know it's gonna take some time So wait for me at the finish line I slipped farther and farther It got easier then it got harder Life is short but it's no race Just do your best to laugh in the face Of things that just try to bring you down I want to know if everything I've done can be enough? To make you feel safe and warm, Protect you from the bullshit in this world
