| Lance's music journey began when he was 6 years old in the small logging town of Morton, WA. Singing along to Don Ho and Eddie Arnold records, he entertained family and friends. From there he graduated to Quaker Oats boxes and empty coffee cans - learning to keep a steady groove. In the 5th grade Lance took his first guitar lesson and by 7th he was taking piano lessons, and by HS he was playing drums in the school’s jazz, pep, and concert bands. He was also playing in the Sunday morning worship team at the church. He started a band at this time and played drums and sang. He played keyboards for a while, too, but unable to find a bass player, he learned to play bass guitar. Lance played in bands in Portland, Oregon throughout the rest of the 80’s. During the 90’s he had pretty much quit playing, though found him in the studio writing and recording. His songs have been on the radio from Alaska to Connecticut as a solo artist and with the bands Last Frontier and Anderson Simons. Today he maintains a home in in SE Alaska where he can fish for salmon, halibut, crab and shrimp on his boat and record in his home studio. |
