lance taylor black cowboy hat şarkı sözleri

While wondering in Wisconsin one day Went and saw some old friends that my friend had made We sat at the table most comfortably I was introduced we all sat and drank tea We sat with John Klein and his wife Mary Talked about Maryland and history They welcomed my friend as their long lost son And they were curious to know about the things that we'd done We talked about Chicago and the traffic that jammed San Fran and Berkley and the promised land They had two dogs Sojourner and Molly They had an all black cat whose name was Zimmy We stepped outside to an old Dodge that spit fire Mary told us 'bout a lady bought a house for a dollar It's right up the street she said let's go take a look It's the only house you'll see that was moved on a truck Sure enough before my eyes the big house stood It was moved on a truck from another neighborhood The house was big and green and three stories tall It had a basement sized garage beneath it all We stepped up on the porch and we went inside The rooms were bare but they were big and wide We took a look around and then we went upstairs There were cowboy boots and hats lying everywhere I grabbed a black hat and I held it in my hand I put it on my head just like the Marlboro Man The lady said take it man I don't care Eric said that's the hat that I was born to wear I was feeling brand new I had boots on my feet Thinking about Denver where my heart did beat But I was in Wisconsin a thousand miles away But if she saw my new hat I wonder what she'd say You look ridiculous So I left with this hat and got a pair of black boots They'd both go great with my cowboy suit We bid the Kleins goodbye and that was that And there's the story of how I got my black cowboy hat
