My Path

Metal and glass was smashed, but I was left intact Still whole, no broken bones, not even a scratch I escaped the wrath, I guess it's just My Path Now every time I pass the scene of the crash I laugh At the absurdity of this roller coaster How I wasted years not being sober But I changed my ways, and I found a plot I gained composure, I learned a lot I bought a house, produced some tracks Found my outlet, learned to relax Hurdled the past, through that crash Metal and glass was smashed, but I was left intact Still whole, no broken bones, not even a scratch I escaped the wrath, I guess it's just My Path Now every time I pass the scene of the crash I watch I grieve over the lost, I wonder at the cost Indifference to the cross, it's not that I am hos- -til but this life is all we got Blood still pumps through my veins I'm still crazy, I'm insane Just like all of us, still struggle with that trust Feels like we're being crushed Work til we turn to dust But I prefer this brush, til I'm gone I will clutch Til I'm gone I will clutch Til I'm gone I will clutch Metal and glass was smashed, but I was left intact Still whole, no broken bones, not even a scratch I escaped the wrath, I guess it's just My Path Now every time I pass the scene of the crash I smile That I'll still be here for a while Thankful to my friends, thankful to my family Until the very end, right here I will be standing This is my catharsis, this is me as an artist This is me when I feel free when I'm creating that stardust In my hearts that scarlet, so let me just say this Metal and glass was smashed, but I was left intact Still whole, no broken bones, not even a scratch I escaped the wrath, I guess it's just My Path Now every time I pass the scene of the crash I know
