Sometimes the world around you seems to fall apart; life is certainly not fair I remember the day our world came crashing down and our dreams were taken away You stared squarely at the face of death, but I refused to accept it and just wanted you to hang on From daughter to grandmother and everything in-between You were the most beautiful woman I had ever seen As I look to the stars in heaven I wonder why Only God has the power to make the decision to live or die Now I kneel beside you and I pray down on my knees Then I hold your hand, just begging you to breathe The days may seem long but our years on Earth are really few And we never know when we'll walk our last mile or live our last hour I know we can't turn back the hands of time but, I remember the first night our eyes met And I'll never forget holding your hand as you took your last breath I would give anything to have you live for one more day And as I deal in a world without you baby, I wipe the tears away Now I kneel beside you and I pray down on my knees Then I hold your hand, just begging you to breathe I'll never forget you for that I'm sure; as for the loss, there is no cure I knew from the start that only death could keep us apart And now, you may be gone from my sight, but, never from my heart I would give anything to have you live for one more day And now I wish you were here to help me baby, wipe the tears away As I kneel beside you and pray down on my knees And as I held your hand, I just begging you to breathe Now I kneel beside you and pray down on my knees And as I hold your hand I'm just begging you to breathe
