Trapped in a farce of mediocrity This isn't the future they promised me All hope's expired and I'm wasting my time So uninspired I'm bored out of my mind I walk through streets so gentrified They destroyed everything that made this city alive Whitewashed, censored, razed to the ground To make room for the haves while the have-nots drown Stuck in a world that wants to push us away So sick of the system that keeps us afraid What once was ours has been homogenized Counterculture unrecognized It's up to you to tear it all down Blow it to pieces then turn it around Cut the wires and pull the lever Better always than forever, better now than never The sun is setting on a smog-filled sky Above dystopian ruins, a future of lies I'm in such a state of desperation My senses are dulled by my inebriation Down on Skid Row, I see the dispossessed The rich get richer while the poor get depressed Somebody save us from ourselves Take us away from these circles of hell
