I hate that sound It means another cycle of this spiral has begun Another day with PC screens, telephones and phoney grins Another tainted effort to pretend that all is sound See how the spiral stretches round and round Another day of walking out the door To spend a day I've spent before And all to share another night with mindless TV shows Another day to dream away of exotic places Don't they look happy, these faces in the travel magazines See how the spiral stretches down and down To the end How will this spiral ever end How will this spiral ever end I'm tired of challenging the voices in my head That scream to me that this is wrong This madness needs to end We serve a system and forget that we're alive Sometimes at night I look up at the stars And I cry I cry
