Through It All

I am always trying To take better care of myself To take better care of my family And my loved ones My friends Neighbors Community The human species I want everyone to thrive and be happy I want everyone to feel alive I shop local Support small businesses And believe in the divine power and freedom for and of all individuals I buy organic and grass fed meat and dairy from farmers in my state I care about and prioritize the health of the soil in my yard And do not use any chemicals I respect and love all things nature Mother Earth makes me feel at home I love listening to the birds sing I love relaxing in the sun Cooking Spending time with my family and loved ones Making music Writing poems Reading books Walking barefoot on the earth Swimming Growing food in the garden I love trees and flowers And watching sunsets And going to the beach And playing the piano And eating delicious food And having meaningful conversations And feeling love I love laughing and smiling And I love making other people laugh and smile I want to inspire other humans to live a joyful, peaceful, healthy, fun, simple, wholesome life Full of creativity and beauty And love and happiness and laughter Full of wisdom and truth And integrity and harmony Full of walking, reading, moving, praying, dancing, singing, nature, breathing, jumping, sleeping I am working towards a more noble mind & character Life doesn't have to be as hard as we make it I value modesty and generosity The feminine and the masculine Honesty and an even temper We must endure hardship and reduce our needs Work with our hands and mind our business We are artful and creative beings by nature Allow yourself to express and create I've come to discover the importance of self reliance, self accountability, self responsibility, and self sufficiency And the disease caused by resentment, jealousy and hostility I want to do good to others I want others to do good to others I like when people are optimistic and cheerful Yet I see the potential and necessity in all energy I want to be gentle and dignified I want to do what I have to do without complaining I want my mind to be a kind place I want to act with the best of intentions My only judgement is intention I often wonder what life really is Am I awake? Or is this a dream? But then I remember not to take life too seriously A good sense of humor will carry us through I want to be good and witty company I want to carry my innocence and purity in all seasons of life Are you inspired by your life? Do you spend good time away from your cell phone? Away from all technology? Life is what you make it Do you know who you've been? On all the different pages All the different stages All the different phases and seasons From the womb To infancy To childhood To high school To adulthood To parent To grandparent To great grandparent Through it all Through it all Through it all Our lives are unique to us And one day we will return to the stars Hopefully! And the cycle will cycle on I try to remain a child at heart What are you afraid of and who taught you to fear it? I ask myself, "What is my role in bringing heaven to earth?" I want to make people feel loved and safe and warm and understood and appreciated and seen and felt and inspired I remind myself to be like nature I'm grateful to experience the gift of life I'm grateful to be passionate enough to write about it
