Autumn is here again Like a forgotten friend Who unexpectedly came too soon As morning turns to afternoon Summer was far too brief Offered a scarce relief Now comfort is lost to these falling leaves The colours painted to deceive Autumn is passing through It will not wait for you Winter will carry a chilling bite As evening folds to darkest night Autumn is at its end I'm glad to call you 'friend' Someone to cling to when days are cold Someone to love as we grow old
