Jesus is a Friend

There was somebody I once knew Sitting in the corner of the room Couldn't walk along the trail laid out Couldn't see the path beyond her doubt The light inside her blooming red From the pain and torment in her head Darkness coming in on every side All the grief remained inside her mind You're right there in front of me Why can't you see, my dear? He's right there in front of you He is the truth, it's clear Now I know, if Jesus is a friend Then I am not alone Alone And so, if he is at the end Then nowhere is unknown I am known I saw the light flicker inside her mind Didn't know it was the special kind Too scared of being all alone She didn't know that this would be her home She traveled past all her fears Only took a couple years Saw Him in the bread and wine Realized he's been the Way all of this time You're right there in front of me Why can't you see, my dear?
