A Wake

I've been waiting for a long time For what exactly I couldnt say With bated breath and tense and anxious posture I waste away the day I need nothing from nobody I loudly say to see If anybody turns around and notices Little poor old me I've been hanging by a bare thread And I cant help but give it a pull See it all unravel into an ugly mess I guess I enjoy the show I want everything from everybody I whisper so you dont hear If anybody knew how selfish I was They wouldnt come near Ding ding the dinner bell is ringing i Can hear it through the thunder crash But I'm content to hide out in the forest here Away from all of that Away from the face you wear when you walk In through the front door Tell me that you wish you could be proud of me But not to worry bout it anymore
