You say I speak of you like poetry But poetry cannot compare to you There's a glimmer in your smile And a song in everything that you do Your love dripped like honey onto my tongue It tasted just like nectar from the gods You say I speak of you like poetry But poetry can't comprehend this We said "I love you" and "you're perfect" And we know that "better doesn't exist" I saw a new text from you And our story changes here without warn (Oh no) The conversation went 180 And I felt an unfamiliar scorn And when I read that fated message I felt something wet roll down my face Those broken tears dripping from my eyes Like the blood spilling out of our veins You say I speak of you like poetry But poetry can't feel its own pain And when the blood spilled in the nectar Then it made a new peculiar taste
