I can't wave like an ocean I don't change and I'm too small for motion I just sit and wallow and fester and rot Left to blame myself for every waking thought I shouldn't be mad for feeling this way But with leeches on my brain my thought's in disarray It's still water, it's stagnant and green A cesspool of life I don't wanna be Mosquito eggs and cattails in my hair Katydid songs ringing through the air Things don't change unless I say so Cuz in the pond no one says hello Floating facedown in the drink Watch the fish and the turtles and the skinks I'm covered in clay and sand and silt Hoping that one day the hole is filled Until then the froggies in my skull Song me to sleep with a ribbiting lull Once again I'm stuck with no one else here Wake me up when the water turns clear Things don't change unless I say so Cuz in the pond you're left alone
