In the Embers

Can't decide if paradise, is something I can hope to find out here we're to polarized, a world that feeds on hatred and despair It feels good to forget, but remembering has opened up my eyes At first it scared me shitless, but now disbelief has given way, to focus, strength and self-restraint We spread like cancer, now we're looking for answers as the day fades away False prophets and saviors, relieving us from our failures In the end, it's all on them Twisted ideologies, lying and apologies, like pigs rolling in the dirt We're living on a sleeper, the pit is getting deeper, and it's filled with snakes The only rule, is to rule, and they ruled them all It's been quite a show, to see a world rise and fall We spread like cancer, now we're looking for answers as the day fades away False prophets and saviors, relieving us from our failures In the end, it's all on them Burning cities, burning monuments But strange enough the temples seem to have survived without a dent Begs the question did the problem start with them Watch it burn, sit with me and watch it burn In the embers, like a wounded worm, it twists and turns It's disturbing, but I can't seem to look away It fascinates me how a world is dying, and it won't see another day
