Past Tense

All my senses, all of my senses Are in present tense, and you look a bit tense You gotta hold your breath, Maybe count to ten Then get on Pat your chest If you find the rhythm In your dampening neck If you find a reason Not to grab that hand Painted red, reaching out to you Hold that thought I can't hear a thing I've got a million ways To keep all this in But for a second, lost focus All I see is a blur All my senses, all of my senses Act as if in past tense And they're making me feel Something that's long dead From a body that I don't know Here's what we seem to prefer ; To hide away for years in hope to delay all the hurt Now my heart is feeling sore If only I could tell what is now, what was before And I am talking to myself again "I'm not so sure, that you're so pure" Wasn't much of a fighter, then If I lived above my head I could ignore My own ideas I've shed no tears I want to live Here's what we seem to prefer To hide away for years As if you can live with all the hurt Now, there's banging at the door And I can never tell if this is now or was before And I'm talking to myself again (all my senses, all of my senses) Thinking bout how I need someone to blame to breathe again (act as if in past tense, I live in past tense) In my circuit, an anomaly I cannot wake because I live inside a memory
