Yeah It‘s been almost a year now since I stepped on that plane Trying to get away from all the wars that I waged I flew across the world, over Hong Kong and Sydney When I finally stepped out I had landed in Fiji I had decided to leave home because of a girl, school and depression And I wanted to volunteer to go help with my actions Helping people in need, the only way to help myself As well as an opportunity to come out of my shell I wanted to be the person I always knew I could be Confident and extrovert yeah that was the new me Turns out it was the best decision I had ever made, yeah This country and its people gave me more than I gave them I‘m so grateful for that Fiji number one, and that‘s a fact They say home is where the heart is so my heart belongs to you They say paradise is Fiji and I really think it‘s true From kava in the hall to bonfires on the beach All these perfect moments where my mind was at peace They say home is where the heart is so my heart belongs to you They say paradise is Fiji and I really think it‘s true From kava in the hall to bonfires on the beach All these perfect moments where I was at peace I was in a foreign country more pretty than in the pictures But what really struck me about Fiji well that was it's people A cyclone took their houses left them stranded with no homes No cries no complaints though, right back to work they go Never met anyone so simple yet so generous and wise They‘ll invite you to their table and they‘ll teach you about life Silana, Moturiki, Caqalai you‘re all so distant But I think of you each day you guys are stronger than Winston Lately I‘ve gone through some pictures reminding me of those moments It‘s a bittersweet nostalgic feeling also known as homesick I‘ll be back I swear I just have one last thing to tell you Sota tale viti, vinaka vaka levu I remember when I landed I was super stressed, and anxious, and scared And in one or two days I was the happiest I had ever been, so thank you They say home is where the heart is so my heart belongs to you They say paradise is Fiji and I really think it‘s true From kava in the hall to bonfires on the beach All these perfect moments where my mind was at peace They say home is where the heart is so my heart belongs to you They say paradise is Fiji and I really think it‘s true From kava in the hall to bonfires on the beach All these perfect moments where I was at peace It's indescribable, it was the experience of a lifetime and I thin you don't understand it unless you've been there The people I met are amazing and I know that I will go back sometime
