He found himself alone, yet surrounded His mind closed off from the world around him Dead to the thoughts of what He needs to do so much He wants it to be different He falls exhausted from the weight he carries The burden on his shoulders feels so heavy Pushed down upon him now Deeper into the ground He wants it to be different And even when he knows it must remain He tries so hard to keep it all the same He'd rather hear them sing Than calling out his name He drifts into his dreams when the night comes The only time when he's assured an outcome That doesn't hurt inside And you can hear him sigh He wants it to be different And it is much different now He thinks if I could look ahead and realize That I've been looking back my whole life Could I start it again Would it stop happening He wants it to be different And in his head collections big and small His hopes and dreams are now archived in thick fog He thought maybe he'd fall But now he has it all He wanted it to be different It's true his nightmares no longer give him pause He's made friends with the demons Now they're gone Constant companions then Never to be again There's nothing left to do but fade away This trap of life is such a tired vail No longer feeling pain A smile upon his face He wanted it to be different and it is much better now He found himself alone, yet surrounded His mind closed off from the world around him Dead to the thoughts of what He needs to do so much He wanted it to be different
