Shadow Man

One quiet night in the fields of Bridgnorth My mind dreamt of a dream and creativity came forth It's kind of hard to remember all the little things that I dreamt I don't know if it scared me or made me content I dreamt of a blank room,the shade of white Relieved as there were no dark corners or things that could bite There was a brick wall that stood high and tall And a waterfall of poppies trailing down this wall A man over my shoulder just made of a shadow A man I've never seen before and not sure that I know He held out his hand like he was asking me for help To be pulled out of this realm too scared to yelp This shadow man wasn't scary nor aggressive He showed so much fear and pain that it was depressive I wish that I knew him so that I could help him To make this dream realm just a little less grim That quiet night in the fields of Bridgnorth Yes it was a strange one thoughts travelling back and forth In my mind questioning whether it was real or not Should I have helped this man? Oh I still think of this a lot I haven't dreamt of this dream since that one quiet night Not the shadow man nor the poppies or the room of white But I still look over my shoulder every now and then Just to make sure no one else's shadow is following me again
