My words cry out to a higher power My time of death draws closer hour by hour to me What tenuous scripture should I preach for the day Should I rise to the pulpit with a doctrine of hate Still afraid of the shadows behind me Should I sing of joy should I sing of mistakes Or should I lock my lips and leave my wisdom in chains Still afraid of the words that slip from my mouth I'm unsure of myself and I don't know the way Will someone please tell me what the f*ck should I say What the f*ck should I say Speak fast For the flesh fades Time goes on and I waste away My words fall flat and warmth fades away
