Eastern Standard Girl

I met a girl from NYC, she only knew the city I introduced her to barbecue and the rest was history I live out west and her back east and rarely the twain shall meet I'm rough and tumble and she's high class, but she swept me off my feet She's up when I'm asleep and working when I'm home Our dates are few and honestly are basically on the phone She looks good in facetime, but I'd love to see her world But that's nigh on impossible with an Eastern Standard Girl Well I'm on Mountain and she's Eastern Standard Who came up with that nonsense anyway They know what they're doing in Arizona Just set your clock and let it stay She visits me in Big Sky Though the traveling runs us ragged And even when we're together one of us is just jet lagged We're tired when we're together and tired of being apart And every time we say good bye it breaks my poor heart I pray that someday we'll be on the same clock But until that time comes, we'll work with what we got She looks good in Facetime, but I'd love to see her world But that's nigh on impossible with and Eastern Standard Girl I'm on Mountain and she's Eastern Standard Who came up with that nonsense anyway They know what they're doing in Arizona Just set your clock and let it stay
