After all, I'm too busy working doubles in the middle of a pandemic But you know how the old adage goes We can all sleep when we're dead Otherwise, what's instead? How do we measure our success? I guess we'll find out when the morning comes If it comes Now is the time to look into your mind Ask the meaning why Make out with your life in the moonlight Buy your friends dinner Buy yourself a drink Give flowers to the living Kiss often, and sing yourself to sleep Since these are the days we stay still facing down our self-hatred But with the same tongue we spread more love than we believe we can make So what then can we do in the face of certain extinction? Focus more on the sky and less on the time of completion What expanse in our minds when we realize there may not be reason For what we've all been doing, just cos we've been doing it Why, it's just what we've been doing this whole time But just because it's what we've been doing this whole time It doesn't mean there cannot be a change We're living in surrealistic existence Facing daily onslaught absurdist tragedies When living gets so bad you laugh out of sadness So hard the tears come rolling down your cheeks Until you can't quite tell whether you've started crying Or finding peace Wedged between Tragedy and absurdity So, lean into absurdity Oh, lean into absurdity All we can do is lean into absurdity Lean into absurdity with me Lean into absurdity with me
