Isolated, disconnected Like what I see isn't there Trapped inside a jar Stuck in a container Suffocating from a lack of air Loneliness can kill you And I feel it every day Connection always feels so far away It wasn't always like this I used to have so many friends But then they moved or they died Or we fell out of touch Or I pushed them away It's easier to be alone That way no one can hurt you But loneliness can kill you And I feel it every day That's the price I pay For peace of mind No drama No conflict No joy No pain Just purgatory gray That I stare at Every day
