Mike's Ride

I look at the extraordinary ZXTenR super bike I sit for awhile feet touching the ground As a fleeting thought rushes past Mike Its deadly will I still be around My helmet on the tank nestled between my thighs It want be long before I begin the ride The Adelaide Hills my choice of food for thought But I knew that would be nought Ride feel it ride feel it ride feel it ride Its around midday no sun in the eyes Hopefully there will be no surprise Helmet on gloves on and game on I see the sign Houghton all thoughts are abandon My circuit ten kilometres and anti clockwise One that I repeat, there will be no surprise The first kilometre is up hill the bike's power a thrill It's the middle of winter and I don't feel the chill Ride feel it ride feel it ride feel it ride Chest on the tank like a body surfer eyes focused I am speeding but not to be noticed As my finger starts to trail brake the corner I take As my senses a truly awake Up ahead two bikers on their Harleys I split them on the apex I gave them a scare No doubt it woke them from their lounge chairs Both now in need of a couple rum Bacardi's Ride feel it ride feel it ride feel it ride A few more corners to navigate I had kept my speed at a high rate The art of cornering a skill one could not fake But a riders joy to partake The end was at near as the last corner did appear I felt the trail brake soft without fear And accelerated out of the corner To see it disappear After the ride I always had a beer On entering the pub I saw the two bikers Who looked up at me their intentions unclear I smiled and bought them a beer Ride feel it ride feel it ride feel it ride
