As the world burned They said it was our turn To go and make a difference But there's nothing left to save They built up the system That kept us captive So we revert to cartoons And blood stained blades They wonder why we don't want to fight Never planned on making it out alive Would it be alright if we leave this all behind Because we never planned on making it out alive We never had a fucking chance To make our own way So we drink ourselves to death And maybe that's okay To whom it may concern A generation raised on angst and hurt To who it may concern Sincerely the children of the crashed and burned They phoned it in while society died Ignored their privilege and black lives Killed the planet, gas-lit and crooned And washed their hands And said the future belongs to you F*ck you
