Shadows and mirrors

Well, I'm in a weird place My mind wanders, lost My shadow is a fragment of me But it seems to know the loss The mirror is even involved Not sure as to why Except everything is trying To turn it around and help me fly Just a part of obstacles I meet along this tricky path Trying to understand these methods Trying not to end and last I'd like to know I tried I'd like for you to know I cared Enough to give me a fair shake Not leaving chances thrown everywhere Just a part of me that I can't take Unless I know it can be beat It's not easy when your shadow says it can't go Or the mirror says that you're just too old Things all around are ending Left is not right And neither is right But still bending over backwards Just to be a part Of something other than a broken heart Other than a broken start Trying not to fail Just a part of obstacles I meet along this tricky path Trying to understand these methods Trying not to end and last I'd like to know I tried I'd like for you to know I cared Enough to give me a fair shake Not leaving chances thrown everywhere Just a part of me that I can't take Unless I know it can be beat I see the light but it's coming and going Getting further until I stop Then it grows only to a certain point Like the time on the clock When the power surges or flickers off It needs to be manually reset sometime To make sure we're not lost, so Shadows lead and your mirror is boss Your mirror is boss Just a part of obstacles I meet Along this tricky path Trying to understand these methods Trying not to end and last I'd like to know I tried I'd like for you to know I cared Enough to give me a fair shake Not leaving chances thrown everywhere Just a part of me that I can't really take Unless I know I can beat it I don't think it's going to be clear What I make of it would be Like, what do we have here? In the darkest times We continue to try and find ourselves Thinking too often we don't need any help Then our shadow whispers And the mirror says what you don't wanna hear Just stop being a fucking baby and grow the f*ck up There's nothing to fear except fear itself Good luck
