How does your heart feel does it treat you like I would Did you think that I'd forget you on my way to Hollywood Do you still believe in Jesus or is that just some books you read And does your mama hold the Bible still over your head my friend I know that your body does not feel like your own In this life and the next I hope you find a place to roam Somewhere it don't ever rain and they've never heard of hate That is what I'd choose for you if I could choose your fate my friend I would not take your pain away for it makes you who you are But I'll walk with you and share it holding hands and counting cars Are you still drinking coffee can I get you some right now Every tear drop we cry is a problem figured out my friend If you feel like sitting down my house is up the street I don't keep any wine but we can find something to eat My dogs would sure be happy for some kindred company They'll see you just like I do a soul to set at ease my friend As we go on our way I appreciate the notion That we are just drops of energy with skin and emotion Though our faces may look different we are pretty much the same No I may not ever see you I will always say your name my friend
