Wake me up at 4am I grip the handle, sliver prone I visualize their thumbtacks and strings They don't match mine But maybe if they wake up upside down Then they will go down to open up the door They doubt their old shoes Stay together long enough To keep them outside long enough To stay alive And at the bus stop They line up one by one Unless I twitch my hand And raise it high to wave Goodbye!
