Inkwell

I bumped my Inkwell And watched it spill Upon the parchment Where I used my quill Called it a masterpiece 'Cause it's the only way to say To tell the world The things I feel The memories That aren't hard steel Too complicated To put into a phrase I watched the Ink soak Into the page And watched it drip, drip, off the table We're not 'gonna Need another one to save us We weren't 'gonna Be another if they said we were invisible Drip Spill And watch the darkness that you fill Fall And watch it soak To fill your days with an inkwell of hope Splash I could burn my quill in the candlelight And watch the shadows dance along the wood I could kneel on the floor Then lean my head against an open door Feel the stars around me As the drywall starts its melting And a ghost's face arises But not with their rough surprises I will stay here in the silence And never close my eyes We're not 'gonna need another one to save us We weren't 'gonna Be another if they said we were invisible Drip Spill And watch the darkness that you fill Fall And watch it soak To fill your days with an inkwell of hope Splash
