It's been a minute you've been add it for years You went through so many bumps but yet still managed to steer You had the right mind, real focused on your dreams and didn't stop You lost a good amount of people, but never lost what you felt What the feeling was to make music and the time you spent Alone in your room, the safest place to vent Living your teenage years with only paper and pen Where the music became the path you're more happy in And I'm glad you did You changed the life for both of us Younger me paved the way for older me so I'll adjust Because time was all you had, and you spent it right Shit life would've been so different if you didn't write There's still a lot to do but I'm proud of you Coming in the game not knowing where to go No role models around with you Your parents separated so you had to grow Momma doing her best to support your dreams, at the same time bills are overdue So you stayed focused and stayed on your grind You wanted different, wanted to live a better life not stay behind And you went for it A lotta people did not rock with you At first you felt a sadden feeling But then got real comfortable But here's a part for my future self, you're doing great remember that, don't doubt yourself again Younger you was, able to keep going when things were tough He managed to work with no one involved, and now you got some love From the music scene, you met some dope ass people along People with ambition, people who know what they what before they're gone I'm excited to see where I will head too, but time will tell At the moment I'm evolving learning new shit as I sail Lil Red you won't believe the shit you've seen because of music You also dj as your job and that's some cool shit You work with homies, we the bosses we the new kids Coming from nothing, breaking branches, start a new tree
