Season's Greeting

I dressed up in a costume Worked my trick-or-treating shift I yelled at football on TV Checked turkey off my list I bundled up in hat and shawl I instagrammed the leaves in fall Fought other shoppers in the mall And I was patient through it all I saw the calendar today It says November's gone away It's December, it's officially The last month of the year It's socially acceptable for me To have some Christmas cheer There's no one that can stop me Even Ebenezer Scrooge Now it's time for Christmas songs So no complaints from you It's been three hundred forty-one days Since last we decked the halls But in my room the twinkling lights stayed Right up on the wall I'd like to have them on the house And never, ever take them down Cause fairy lights are good year-round But we don't need to discuss that now It's December, all the radios are Playing Christmas tunes Not just that one AM station That started back in June There's nothing that can stop me for The next twenty-four days The clock is ticking 'til it's done And Santa's on his sleigh Now December, it's officially The last month of the year It's socially acceptable for me To have some Christmas cheer No jingle bells where you can hear Eleven months out of the year Let me make it very clear Santa's reckoning is here It's time for Christmas cheer
