Unbelief

Oh all the beauty You have for me I barely believe it Even on the best of days I don't know how to receive it Sometimes I'd rather eat the crumbs that fall from Your feast Than face the responsibility of taking my seat So I've been stumbling down the sidewalk beside the streets of gold And I've been racing round in circles as if Your word won't hold I'm just existing and missing out on the best You have for me Oh won't you help my help my unbelief I see You dancing out on the waves You call to me once more But I feel so at home right here Sitting safe on the shore But still You speak Your truth to me and fear loses hold Somehow this tiny seed of faith is beginning to grow So why've I been stumbling down the sidewalk beside the streets of gold And why've I been racing round in circles as if Your word won't hold Why just existing and missing out on the best You have for me Oh won't you help my help my unbelief Now I see That I'm the thief I've robbed myself of the gift You gave to everyone And now I face What's gone to waste Faith unrisked is a song unsung So I won't keep stumbling down the sidewalk beside the streets of gold And I won't keep racing round in circles as if Your word won't hold Not just existing and missing out on the best You have for me I know You'll help my help my unbelief
