From a Distance

Picking up the pieces of someone else's mess No one wants to do it, so you take it on yourself When you see somebody broken, it feels like you are too So you try to fix their broken life even though it breaks yourself I want to help, but people can't fix a thing And I wanna be the one to make the hurt go away So when I offer out a hand and it's refused It's still hard for me to leave and trust it'll be okay But I have faith that things can change so From a distance I'll pray Knowing if it's your place to help is hard when it seems Like no one else is willing so you might as well But there are times when people need to be reached by someone else 'Cus God didn't create us to carry the weight of the world by ourselves I want to help, but people can't fix a thing And I wanna be the one to make the hurt go away So when I offer out a hand and it's refused It's still hard for me to leave and trust it'll be okay But I have faith that things can change so From a distance I'll pray It's hard for me to realize it's not our job to fix each other We are called to lift up one another To the one who can, the one who does fix broken hearts and lives And show them His love for us I want to help, but I can't fix a thing And I wanna be the one to make the hurt go away So when I offer out a hand and it's refused It's still hard for me to leave and trust it'll be okay But I have faith that things can change so From a distance I'll pray
