We sat by the fire, listening to your favorite song You played the guitar softly, and quietly hummed along All jealousy I had before of anyone was gone As I realized this moment was one of dusk and dawn We both said how thankful we were for the stars and our city And how not everyone in the world was quite this lucky You smiled at the fire and said, "And not everyone has you." I blushed in response and replied "I'm thankful for you too." I thought about taking a photo and decided against it Cuz the rest of the world didn't need to know this moment It was kind of perfect that was just for you and I And for the stars that glittered up in the night sky When we went inside, the feelings stayed And I wished tomorrow wasn't a new day When you texted me later that night I realized that everything was more than alright It was some kind of perfect I couldn't get enough of it It was some kind of perfect What a heady affect A moment that was left unshared Except between us and the night air.
