What's in the Backyard?

I'm white-kuckling my steering wheel as I drive through town Street lights flicker, fog rolls in, and everything is off I lost time on a seven mile ride and I don't know where its gone Radio cuts and static erupts as light pours down And as the green beam envelops me pulling me towards the stars While I'm suspended but floating, hoping my mind won't shatter apart Watching Afraid of the Dark 'till the power cuts out And shine my flashlight on the bookshelf to find all the Goosebumps fell down I don't remember how I got home a few hours ago Look in the backyard and see my car drop to the ground below I've boarded up the windows and doors, curled into the fetal position right on the floor And it feels like déjà vu again, having panic attacks and getting the spins The candles I lit blew out as the floor board creek in This tinfoil hat can't save me from the tapping and the glowing from my door This wasn't the night I was expecting as the T.V. turns on once more It's replaying all over again just like it was before Watching Afraid of the Dark 'till the power cuts out And shine my flashlight on the bookshelf to find all the Goosebumps fell down I don't remember how I got home a few hours ago Look in the backyard and see my car drop to the ground below
