I Am

I said I know that I am just here to show What I have seen and what I hold dear I don't need to look around When it dances inside and it's growing, it's growing brown Like the shit that I have been filled with I've been spewing it out of my mouth And I said that I'm done and I'm looking toward the future Can you feel it I don't think it matters what I do If I'm trying to only look to you I see that I have something in myself That's better than I can get from anyone else And it makes me sad to say That I know how much of me I have wasted looking for it within thee But it doesn't mean I'm dead And it doesn't mean my heart's not red And it doesn't mean I'm giving up instead I can see what I have been called to be What I am supposed to see I don't need anyone To be what I am God's son I am going to bring peace I am going to spread joy The only way I know how It is my love I shall employ I will deploy it everywhere The people all around will stare in awe As they experience the thing that I have now brought But I, I'm back here again And I, to the world am a friend I know that it's looked down upon But I will not give up No, I will not give up on the ones we've all given up on I said I know that there is so much beauty I know that I am the one who will uncover it If you don't believe in what is in front of you Then what do you even believe in I take a look and I feel alive When I look into your beautiful eyes Because I make myself see what is true And that's something no one else can see in you Yet still I don't want anyone, no I don't I just am God's son I don't need anyone, no I don't Because I am God's son So if you look and you don't see Then I will promise, don't give up on me 'Cause if you stick around I'll show you how truly loud I will make the sound Oh, the shining of the lights Oh, the universe burns bright Brighter than I could ever have seen before The good love of God, it lights up more and more Every single day I have given up But it's time for something else to start holding me up 'Cause I'm here, and I'm tired of living the way I have I wouldn't even say that I have been living I'll say that what I have had was something that I was not given Was something I had taken away and it wasn't mine in the first place But I'm saying that I know That I'm here for a reason And that is to make sure that This world can be as beautiful as God's son
