I started out with nothing, & still have most of it left I came from a place you don't want to go,- not even for a sec Everyone's out looking for deals these days from the grocery giants It's not your compliments that we need,- but it is a reprieve So would you, could you,- can you? An economy has truly gotten the best of me,- its surpassed all that I owe I can't keep up with the corporate greed,- when costs have become so high You charge me 29%,- raise my rent, & then tell me I've overspent I just need clean sheets,- a place to sleep,- a little something to eat So would you, -could you, can you,- give me some mercy? And would you, could you, can you,- give me some leniency? And would you,- could you? Can you,- show me some clemency? And would you, could you? Can you? Grant some empathy please?
