I saw the way You stared out into the void Portland will rest easy knowing we'll be on our own under the sky But I'm not as sentimental like you think Because time after time well drive home I saw as your face turned red from the cold winds blowing from under burnside bridge And as you turned to me and said those words that I can't understand Cause the music was entirely too loud Please turn it down I paint these walls In evergreen And watch them like a movie scene Without sound it's hard to figure out But for crying out loud do you have to talk so loud Bright lights pass as I walk alone Well save this for the next episode Skylines start leaning into you But the porch light was off and I guess that you're not home And I saw all the trees Whistling your favorite things Turn the lights out And fill our cups with bleach To die in Portland We'll paint ourselves in history We could say sweet words and you're so sweet And it's not like you to cause a scene And I really miss you And I wish that you'd come home
