Drowning the Shore

The rising tide creeping in This wretched beach of forgotten sands My reluctant home Cast beyond the horizon Shadows consuming My narrow surroundings The rains starts trickling in As if weeping for me Forsaken shore Lined with empty husks The rain dousing the land A beginning to the end Water levels rising The higher ground sinking My beaten body treading And I'm left gasping Sinking Pouring and pouring Naked intentions Malicely flaunted This place swept away I'm just trying to breathe Shadows consuming My narrow surroundings Stolen away The sky still weeping for me I'm fighting the current With rampant resistance An attempt in vain Pulling me under Fierce fathoms swallowing My spirit Darker depths flashing Pressure intensifying Dragging me to the ocean floor
