RUNNERS

(Woooo!) We runners on the way It's a marathon in the streets where y'all ain't tryna play It's a sunset outside, the falling of the day There's a cloud growing out but y'all don't like the rain I see people at peace in life, that's moving fast While I think about where I'm going, trying not to crash It's differences ain't adding up, I failed in math Cuz I'm fearful of a journey that lasts until I'm ash again We runners on the way Every day we running it up and trying to get paid We've been striving for success in our lives, afraid to fail Pray to God we don't end up dead or end up in jail I might cry if I see my dawgs working the scale Trying to live cuz the price of life climbing up the scale Or if I see my home girl put her body up for sale We made our world into a living hell, without bail We runners on the way Running away from open arms avoiding pain Finding love, but finding something wrong cuz we are afraid We've been let down trying not to fall once again Cuz we watch love die, we feel it drag us down Wanna die with it cuz we lost everything to their smile Watch our parents split too, watch the family fall apart And wonder if it's even love from the start A world full of broken hearts We runners on the way It's heaven on the planet, but our eyes covered in shade I've been staying up inside, watching life behind a screen Watch a world in distress We all made a mess We can't clean up our act Can't move on to the next Can't be calm with our steps So we all carry stress I'm beyond very blessed As I walk, taking breaths Under god, living fresh 'Til I'm gone, out of flesh We runners on the way to a peaceful life But peace of mind can haunt you Freedom like I'm fleeing what I taught you Be the light to see behind the costume Keep alive, but keeping life will cost you Be alright, til being alive exhausts you Fear your life cuz fear might finally guard you I feel the light, I'm fleeing life, I'm off it We runners on the way!
