Moonlight

I used to dream of seeing a shooting star But all I ever got was the moon and the dark I tried to shine brighter than the stars I couldn't see But what if there's no stars in my galaxy I wanted to be the light But it seems like my stars dimmed And I just wish that I could Wish that I could Be more than moonlight And brighten the sky I just wish that I could Wish that I could Now I take pictures of the moon As someone screams hurry before the bugs bite soon And although the moon isn't luminous like the stars I still have hope for the moonlight found in the dark I wanted to be the light But it seems like my stars dimmed And I just wish that I could Wish that I could Be more than moonlight And brighten the sky I wanted to shine bright as the sun But if I did would I just blind everyone I just wish that I could Wish that I could Be more than moonlight And brighten your life I just wish that I could Wish that I could Shine bright Mmm I wanted to be your light But I'm more like the moon at night And I just can't be I just can't be More than moonlight And that is alright
