I woke up this morning And I froze Wondering where my baby went too Her purse wasn’t in the bedroom Maybe she needed to be early for work Every Sunday we get up go to church So I showered got dressed to go to work I was wondering all day I'm hurt If she really done left me These thoughts would stress me I couldn’t focus I couldn’t help but notice Scrolling through Facebook Her status changed from in a relationship to Open It hit me hard It was like I won a Grammy and lost the award Thought about slashing her tires but that's a chore That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall to need give men a chance That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings and Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall need to give men a chance So My son was born 1999 Last time I saw him was at the age of 5 I got arrested got some charges to my name Did 16 years in prison and prayed I finally got out I wanted to see my son Only to find out he’s grown 21 Called his mamma said no you can’t reach him Your deadbeat father he don't need u I finally saw him, it was like the first I got to meet em That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings and Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall need to give men a chance That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings and Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall need to give men a chance As a kid I felt like I never did enough My mamma struggle to pay the bills and keep us up Called up the homie asked him to put me on He said got you bro don’t worry no more All your money problems would be no more So we met up and he gave me the stuff He told me all I had to do is get on the block and sell drugs Sold my life away just to make a couple bucks That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings and Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall need to give men a chance That's the hard part about being a man We’re supposed to condense our feelings and Not get attached Be the bigger person and advance But um Yall need to give men a chance
