Bath

Standing still on the cold tile floor Steam rises, but I'm still unsure Water runs, but it won't take the weight Close my eyes, let me drift away Drifting slow beneath the waves Weightless, yet I feel the same Fingers run through blurred outlines Trying to wash you off my mind I sink below, let it flow Hoping it will let me go Give it all to the undertow Cleanse what I can't control Droplets fall, gone before I'm aware In the mirror, yesterday's reflection stares Hands submerged, warmth and cold collide But it won't erase what lingers inside One more breath, push it out Let it drown the fear and doubt Fingers trace the fragile seams Drifting far from what we used to be I sink below, let it flow Hoping it will let me go Give it all to the undertow Cleanse what I can't control Water drains, leaves the space Warmth is gone, just air remains Back to where I was before Am I cleansed or left more hollow
