Do you remember the days of Venus and Mars? Their love was cosmic written in stars. She was the chariot moving the divine He was the guiding Star shedding light on the darkest of nights. What are Venus and Mars the Gods of? All is fair in love and war. Through every battle Venus and Mars held on arms strong Moonwalking through lifetimes fingers intertwined A harmony of souls perfectly aligned. You'd have thought a city of angels was guiding them You'd have thought they built a home in Heaven But the devil had to get even Burned Los Angeles down. Venus whispered "Goodbye because I love you " Marring Mars in a way no flame ever could Unawakening all his parts back into a stupor A sacrifice she made though he understood. Venus turned to Vulcan the Emperor's throne A marriage arranged on stability power and control. Finally she had a world of her own. For that reason Mars respected Vulcan. Yet they could not be more different: Vulcan steered the wheel; Mars let Jesus take it. Vulcan ruled with law and order; Mars surrendered to faith and freedom. Vulcan had wealth that made life comfortable; Mars had an emotional depth that shifted Venus on her axis In a way the rich could never know. Mars grasping Venus tight in the night his head against hers The weight of what was and what could never be pressed against their chests.
