We’re all dependent on so many things To the point where we’re numb to the feeling It’s like we can’t live without them History goes deep so where do I begin? In the olden days when we were trained to believe That booze was the solution to everything The temptation to have a good time is enticing But once you’re used to the sensation, it becomes binding It’s the same with cigarettes, same with the internet Same with sweets and fatty foods, it rewires your head Leaves you wanting more and more till the day you die At a young age, all I have to ask is why? Can’t you live without this stuff, are we really dependent? Addiction works like this, you get your fix And once you’re hooked, then they force you to dish A lot of cash, just to keep it going This is the way the economy keeps flowing Lots of people aren’t strong enough to break away Keep on using even though they gotta pay Sobriety is something that’s hard to maintain Temptation in the brain leaves you hooked again That’s because they made it so that you can’t live without The feeling, the rush, that’s what it’s all about Especially when people are desperate for fame Using social media as a lottery game I’ve seen so many people have fallen victim To this unnecessary thing called addiction It’s a way of life, use until it’s too late Now there’s strife, and we’re collapsing under the weight Addiction, addiction, we’re all enslaved This is how we were born and raised Addiction, addiction, we’re all enslaved It controls what we do and say Addiction, addiction, we’re all enslaved This is how we were born and raised Addiction, addiction, we’re all enslaved Is there any way we can get away?
